Robert Kitt joined the Supervisory Board of Kapitel in December 2019


Robert Kitt has become the fourth member of the Supervisory Board of the real estate company Kapitel since the beginning of December 2019. The company’s Supervisory Board will continue with Toomas Annus as the Chairman and with Teet Roopalu, Tõnu Toomik, and Robert Kitt as the Members of the Board.

 “Kapitel is one of the leading real estate companies in the Baltics and I am very happy to join the company,” Robert Kitt commented.

“We are really lucky that Robert was no longer needed in Swedbank Eesti,” said Toomas Annus, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Kapitel.

Robert Kitt has worked in different positions in the banking industry, including the Chairman of the Management Board and the CEO of Swedbank Eesti from 2015 to 2019. He has a PhD in Natural Sciences, an MSc in Economics, and a BA in Social Sciences from Tallinn University of Technology. He has also worked as an associate professor, a researcher, and a visiting professor for the Tallinn University of Technology. Robert Kitt is also socially active, being a member of the Board of Governors and a Member of the Board of the Alumni Network of Tallinn University of Technology, as well as a Member of the Board of the Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He has also participated in the think tank of the President of Estonia.

Kapitel is one of the largest real estate companies in the Baltics that is committed to developing and managing shopping centres, hotels, and office buildings. The group’s real estate portfolio includes over 185,000 m² of rental space. The company owns four office buildings (Delta Plaza and Sõpruse Ärimaja in Tallinn, Narbuto 5 in Vilnius, and I.P.Pavlova 5 in Prague) and has co-ownership in four leading shopping centres (Spice and Spice Home in Riga, Panorama in Vilnius, and Viru Keskus shopping centre in Tallinn). The company also owns the Nordic Hotel Forum (operated by OÜ Nordic Hotels) and, with AS Infortar, Tallink City Hotel (operated by Tallink Hotels).

Kapitel is currently developing two business quarters in Tallinn and Riga. The Liivalaia business complex in the city centre of Tallinn has 36,000 m² of rental space and the project includes three buildings: Estonia’s highest office building rising 111 metres with 28 storeys, a 15-storey office building, and a 9-storey apartment building with a parking house connecting them. The first stage of the Elemental Skanste office complex in Riga includes two connected 10-storey office buildings with 21,000 m² of rental space. In addition to this, Kapitel is developing a 260-room hotel in Tallinn at Kalasadama 10 seaside plot neighbouring the Tallinn Linnahall venue and is working on a concept of a multi-purpose district hub on an 11-hectare property located between the Smuuli and Narva roads in Tallinn.
